Air Filtration
Air Filtration is the removal of particulate matter from the airstream. This is accomplished by the installation of a filter at the air intake portion of the furnace. Standard filters furnished with you furnace are typically about 8% to 10% efficient, and are designed only to help keep large airborne particles from clogging your air conditioning cooling coil. They do a poor job of this at best. |

High Efficiency Air Cleaners
High Efficiency Air Cleaners have been available for many years (rated at efficiencies of 60% to 95%). Besides providing a superior level of protection for your equipment, they also protect your health and your home. These filters are specifically designed to remove Pollen, Mold, Spores, and fine dust from the air your breath. The most common type of High Efficiency Air Cleaners are the Media Type, the Electronic Air Cleaner, and an advanced hybrid type Perfect-Air Cleaner. |
The Media-Type Air Cleaner
The Media-Type Air Cleaner obtains its High Efficiency rating by having a densely woven fabric, and an extremely large surface area ( typically between 60 and 90 square feet of surface area, compared to 4 square feet in a standard filter ) to catch airborne contaminants. When the media becomes dirty or full, it is simply replaced, typically only once a year.

The Electronic Air Cleaner
The Electronic Air Cleaner works by having pre-screen filters trap the larger size particles, then the remaining smaller airborne particles are given an electric charge, and caught on Collector Plates. As the filter loads-up, these Screens and Collector Plates are then removed and washed about three times a year. |
Air Purification
Air Purification is the process of eliminating bacteria, viruses, mold, and other organic compounds from the conditioned air supply. The device that has the longest and most proven track record at eliminating these contaminants is the UVC light emitter. This is a simple device consisting of UVC lights that are installed inside of your system. They are located where they can emit safely on the internal surface of the cooling coil and drain pan. This stops the formation and growth of mold and other living organisms that are common inside your system. The UVC emitter also radiates light on anything carried in the airstream during the normal operation of the system. This allows any airborne Virus or Bacteria to be killed before it is delivered into your home as conditioned air. Mold growth inside your system can also clog the Air Conditioning Cooling Coil.
By eliminating Mold growth on the Cooling Coil, there is added benefit, System capacity is maintained in new systems, and restored in older systems. This translates into added efficiency and a decrease in the cost of operation (Lowering your heating and cooling bills!) |
