We specialize in providing quiet, noise free HVAC systems, but years can change things.

We have the expertise to solve most common noise problems that may be caused by your existing heating and air conditioning system. Here is a list of some of the common sound related complaints we have solved for our customers. Also listed are some of the possible solutions.

ear image Problem: Air noise at the grilles when the system is on.

Solutions: It may be as simple as adjusting the horizontal bar lever at the grille or it may require replacing the grille with non-stamped face type. Or perhaps enlarge the grille for reduced velocity, add additional grille to the room, or add some length to existing duct.

Problem: Rattling, metal to metal sound at grille.

Solutions: Replace grille, tighten the louver blades on the grille.

Problem: Mechanical noise at grilles; fan noise transferred through grilles.

Solutions: Extend the branch duct connected to the grille, and provide offset duct connections to grille, install a section of Silent-Flex Acoustic sound dampening flexible duct at grille.

Problem: Noisy rooftop unit, vibrating and resonating sound through ceiling.

Solutions: Install flexible duct connectors at unit, install spring-mount@ vibration isolators beneath the unit. Install flexible connectors on the electrical and gas connections to the unit. Install a insulated platform below unit.

Solutions: Install a sound-absorbent compressor blanket on the unit's compressor. Install a sound hood on the unit to deflect sound away from the home. Install flexible connectors on all accessory connections to unit, and Vibration Isolators below the unit. Replace unit with modern Low Sound model.

Problem: Noisy Furnace in an interior closet.

Solutions: Repair any out of balance or mechanical fault, insulate the interior walls of the closet with sound-absorbent acoustic liner@. Install a sound-baffle inside the return chamber platform. Line the return chamber with acoustic duct liner. Replace Furnace with a sealed combustion type, or a variable speed furnace. Relocate furnace to attic.

Problem: Noisy Furnace in attic.

Solutions: Properly suspend furnace from roof rafters to raise off the ceiling. Install vibration hangers to suspend unit. Remove any rigid connections between Furnace and ceiling below. Insulate ceiling below Furnace. Install flexible type ducting in lieu of steel ducting.

Problem: Noisy Bathroom Exhaust Fan.

Solutions: Fan wheel in fan has picked up debris. Clean off. Fan wheel damaged or out of balance then replace wheel. Replace Fan with low-sound model. Replace Fan with remote in-line type instead of ceiling-mount type.
